It is not easy to become a career mum in London because it is hard to find a nanny. There is minimum wage and maximum working hours regulated by the British Government, therefore many nannies will choose those workplace which is near their homes, or those who need to work short hours. My husband is a Liver Surgeon, he is way busier than myself, so we require long-hour childcare but we can never find one. We finally sent out son to the nursery when he was 10 months old. I feel very guilty whenever I talk about this. However, nurseries in London is the best choice as British people encourage an all-round development for children, that is independent thinking, creativity, interpersonal skills etc. It is essential to let our children to get used to group life in an earlier stage.
在倫敦當在職媽媽一點都不簡單，因為這𥚃找保姆並不容易。英國設有最低工資及每日工作時限，所以很多保姆會選擇地方較近的或工時較短的。我先生是一位肝科醫生，工作比我還要忙，我們需要保姆的時間較長，一直找不到合適的。因此我們從兒子十個月起就送他到託兒所，說起上來還是滿心愧疚的。不過英國的託兒所是個好選擇，因為英國人很著重孩子的全能發展，即獨立思考能力、創意、人際關係等，早點讓孩子更快適應群體生活非常重要。
